At heart, I’m landscape and nature photographer. I’ve been shooting for about thirty years, first as a passionate amateur and now as a passionate professional. When I was young, my interests were in nature and music. As I matured, I realized I wasn’t a great musician, so I followed my interests in natural sciences. While in college, my parents gave me one of the first point-and-shoot film cameras for a Christmas present, and I was enthralled! I spent a lot of my free time with that camera, pushing it to its limits and learning about the artistic and technical aspects of photography. Photography has allowed me to express my artistic feelings that I couldn’t do as well through music.

Like some professional photographers, I spent several years in another career/profession (environmental scientist) before I made the switch to being a professional photographer – and I LOVE IT! It is tremendously satisfying/gratifying to invest my life doing what I enjoy. While my initial photographic learning came through my nature and landscape photography, I’ve spent the majority of my learning efforts over the past several years on portraiture and weddings photography. One of my many lessons is that my outdoor photography advises my indoor photography and vice versa. I’ve learned (and have more to learn) so much about light and color over the past few years, and how to best manage them for excellent results.

My name is Sheila Meade. I am the owner, and primary designer and photographer of Recollection Road Photography. Capturing memories in pictures is my passion. I always loved riffling through photographs as a little girl at my Grandmother’s house. Recollecting the days of yesteryear and giggling over how my mother had me dressed. My style is, well, simply put…carefree. I love to take the indoors outside. Capturing holey jeans and bare feet atop a stuffed worn chair in a big field or worn out cowboy boots moseying down an old dirt road are right up my alley. Graffiti covered metal buildings, old dilapidated barns, and dried up creek beds are among the best locations. I love to photograph the natural moments of every day. Little ones with un-tucked shirts, wind-blown hair, and dirty faces are the most precious. Photographs that tell a story…scattered pictures of the smiles we left behind…the way we were…. And forever will be…..in pictures.

Finally….

I am crazy about coffee….the taste, color and aroma….especially with my coconut creamer! YUM! I love a good pair of jeans, boots of all kinds, high heels, sweat pants, and dangly earrings….but not all at the same time. I love antiques and the stories they hold. I’m a crafter at heart…I get it from my mom and my beautiful daughter got it from me. I love hot pink and zebra print, polka dots, curly-q’s, and damask! Above all…I adore my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Without him I would be nothing! I give him all the praise and glory!!

My name is Nicole. I have a passion for making art! As a kid through early teen I worked on commercial sets, theater, various print work, fashion shows etc…So I always knew I would be creating. At the time I didn’t know whether it would be hair and make-up, fashion, or remaining in front of the camera. So it makes perfect sense that years later I would pick up a camera, fall in love, and lose sleep for a year!

I have a six year background with hair and make-up. That is what actually led me to pick up a camera. I wanted to build a portfolio of my work and next thing you know I wanted more than just portfolio building!

I feel like I have come to a place where I’ve learned and embraced my style. I would describe my work as, bright, hazy, whimsical and of course romantic, there is always a bit of romance in my photos. I love conceptual work, and whenever I get the opportunity to build a little set, design the hair and make-up look and be specific with the wardrobe, I take it!

One of the greatest things about photography is that your real personality and who you are as a person pours out into your work – it’s an amazing form of self-expression.
