I love clouds, trees and rocks!
I am probably most commonly described as a Landscape photographer, but my style is eclectic. I want to create pieces of fine art, not just pretty pictures. As a landscape photographer we have to work with the available light. This can be a challenge. An ordinary looking scene can be transformed into something amazing with the right light.
This is a two-part process that starts with capture, but continues with post processing. Sometimes I see the finished piece exactly as I imagined, other times I end up with something completely different. It is the journey of discovery that is exciting just as much, if not more than the final destination.
There have been numerous awards gained by successfully entering in various photographic competitions, including the Black and White Spider Awards, Epson International Panorama Awards, Creative Asia Awards, International Aperture Awards, Landscape 500 and Colour Master Awards to name a few.
I am emerging member of Australian Institute of Professional Photography. In the NSW print awards I was runner-up in the landscape category.
In 2010 I was fortunate to have two folios published in SilverShots Magazine. The editor Clive Waring-Flood said “Mark is one of two photographers worldwide that had two distinctively different folios selected”.
My work is currently being exhibited in MKImages Gallery, within the Milk Factory Gallery in Bowral.
